Very informative, enjoy the sound of nature.

I shall highly recommend a visit to "Mina La Jayona" in Fuente Del Arco. Juan, the Guide on site will show you around in- and outside the mine on a 1½ walk in a beautiful nature in the Mountains. Juan is very informative (speaks english very well) and I found the trip out there, only 30 minutes’ drive from Llerena worthwhile. There is no entrance fee and Juan refused to receive anything for his service. Have a look at the Roman Theatre (no entrance fee either) excavated by the roadside to the left, few kilometres before you reach Fuente Del Arco coming from Llerena. The Theatre is now in use again as a Theatre. Only few minutes’ drive from Fuente Del Arco going inland, you will find signs at the roadside showing you the way to the Mine. Except, but at the Entrance to the Mine site. No signs or flags of any significance to stop you coming along the little winding country road. So, watch out to your right, 4 - 5 kilometres from Fuente Del Arco or you will end up in the sticks. Now, before you go, check with the Tourist office in Llerena or call Juan by phone at the site Re: Opening hours. (There is no “Booking” in the normal sense but just tell if you are going. We were only 6 persons on our tour) End July 2014 visiting hours were 10.00 and 12.00 am, but sometimes Juan cancels the 12.00 am excursion. WARNING: Be there on time or best before. At 10.00 am (or 12.00 am) Juan shuts the gate and leaves on foot with the guests for the approx. 1½ hours excursion. But again, it´s highly recommended. A tip: Don’t miss the fresh water tap in front of the visitor centre. The Water is coming straight from the mountain above.
