Good Stop on the way to Al Ain

Located on the Al Ain Truck Road, Lake Zakher is a lovely stop on the way to Al Ain to enjoy a tranquil scenic view and capture some lovely summer photos. There are picnic tables in the area with garbage bins and you can walk around in the sandy area and get down to the Lake which is a man filled area with recycled sewage water, so dipping your toes in here is entirely up to you. You can however see a few lovely birds and a few other small creatures of the dessert. It would be hard to spend a very long time here in the heat, but is worth stopping by on the way.

    Zakher Pools
Lake Zakher or Zakher Pools is the man-made lake exists in Al Ain. It is located in the outer part of the city along Abu Dhabi - Al Ain truck road. The oasis looks scenic with birds and green plants. Bathing and swimming in the lake can be dangerous since some poisonous creatures are living around it. It needs more maintenance to attract tourists. Taking photos on the sandscapes will be a different experience. There is a small picnic area near the lake and dedicated BBQ areas are also available. The lake is easily accessible and some of the camel farms are there on the way. Since it is located around the desert, it will be too hot during summer and very less people visit the lake. Free parking is available, but there are no toilets and refreshment stalls near the lake.

    Picnic Site
My husband and I drove 1+ hours to get to Zahker Lake. Once we got there, we spotted four picnic tables and a pond. The area is clean and definitely off the beaten path, at least, it was for us.
