Great Local Museum. Do Not Miss if Passing Through Nebaj
Excellent to see artefacts from recent excavations and from people's basements stay in the village. There are some excellent ceramics and a few large funeral urns, decorated with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic designs. This museum complements the private folklore museum in nearby Chajul, that takes local history right up to the civil war in the 1980s. A great local initiative. It would be good if more villages in Guatemala had their own museums.
