    Birdwatching
Visited this refreshing place during my latest trip to Oslo and I was pleasantly surprised by the place. Nice gravel path around the lake with multiple stops and plenty of opportunities to take photographs of birds and other wildlife. I saw, and photographed, at least one treecreeper, many starlings and blackbirds and couple of large geese too. Being an amateur photographer and enjoying walks and treks in wild, having this kind of place so near and so easily accessed from city centre is a big plus. Nice place, even in early spring with snow and ice, I can only imagine what this place looks like when it's warmer and everything is fresh green.

Amazing nature at the end of metro line 5
It is a beautiful lake and great surroundings. It is a perfect place for a nice walk in any season. The walkway around the lake is not long (3 km) but is very wide and accessible with a stroller all the way. There are longer paths marked so if you are up for a challenge, Songsvann Lake is a starting point for hikes of different length and difficulty. During the Winter you can find excellent cross country ski tracks in this area and in Summer Songsvann turns into a beach where the more adventurous people can get a chilling swim. A great plus is the easy availability of Songsvann Lake, which is at the end of the nr. 5 metro line.
