Aviation dedication

We spent a very educational morning at this museum and were treated like long time friends from one of the volunteers who helps at the museum. There are a vast number of different model airplanes on display. All exhibits each have detailed descriptions and are very thoughtfully laid out. We were shown the other facilities on the premises, as one can hire the venue for birthday parties and other functions. There is also a flight simulator in one of the display halls and one can try your hand at a simulated flight over beautiful Port Elizabeth. Although this museum does not charge an entry fee, they rely on donations from the visitors. We are planning a return visit as they do allow visitors to access another hangar where they are busy with aircraft restoration. However this hangar is not available until the end of the rugby world cup.

    Ideal for young and old
I visited the museum with my kids and they absolutely loved it. The kids were fascinated by the planes and other bigger displays while I found the older visitors who were there on our visit, although they also looked at the bigger things, found the smaller exhibits and information to be of interest. An interesting addition to the museum is the hanger next door where planes are restored and serviced. The museum is really worth an hour or so of one's time.
