    Ahu Tongariki
Ahu Tongariki is the largest stone platform (ahu) on the island. The moais were toppled during the islands civil wars and in more recent times, the ahu was swept inland by a tsunami. It has since been restored and has 15 moai, including one that weighs in excess of eighty tonnes; the heaviest on Easter Island. All of the moai here face sunset during the summer solstice and they really are a sight to behold. This really is a most spectacular sight and a must on any visit to this beautiful and intriguing island.

    #1 ICONIC EASTER ISLAND SITE
Do Not leave Easter Island without visiting this iconic location. This is the place that you see all over the world when referring to Easter Island. If you did not go here and Rano Raraku, you did not go to Easter Island, so you better take as many pictures in these two locations as possible!!! If you have extra time... getting here again in the early morning while it's still dark and watching the light of dawn shine between the statues in this location is an experience in itself, especially since it is known that the light of day first shines on Easter Island before the rest of the wold.
