Easy hike with amazing scenery !!!

It is a easy hike around 2 km from the visitor centre. There is another car park closer to the start of hiking trails if you go straight without turning right to the visitor centre when you are coming from the ring road. That road leads more into the park but it is closed motor traffic from 1st of June to 31st of August except for disabled/ and special permit holders. However from that car park it's about 1.5km to the waterfalls. No need to tell about the scenery ! It's amazing and one should see for self on a clear day. Even in summer (it's very windy and cold) so wear appropriately which I didn't. Once you've enjoyed the waterfall and surroundings go up the other way and follow the signs to the view point which is about 250m from the waterfall for unforgettable view of the whole area.

Picturesque walk in the hills and great price
We spent the night before in our car in the parking lot of Skaftafell so we had a chance to start early. If the sky is clear you have a lovely view of mountains and you pass another beautiful waterfall Hundafoss. At the end of your trail you see this extra ordinary rock structure and Svartifoss that complete the scenery just perfect. As it is not next to a ring road and the walking path is narrow the crowds are less than Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss.... While we were walking it snowed, rained and then we have clear skies with sun and these all happened in 30 minutes, so do not fool with the weather at the beginning of the walk

    A beautiful route.
This is a beautiful park and an easy-moderate walk and climb along a route of apx. 2.5 kilometers. The beautiful Svartifoss awaits at the end of the route, and along the way, there are several other, smaller, waterfalls. The other part of the park leads you to the majestic Vatnajökull glacier. Give yourself 2-3 hours to enjoy the park.
