Fun (and free) visit for music fans
Well worth the visit if you are in Dunedin. A small upstairs gallery crammed with Beatles memorabilia. It is the collection of one collector who shares it with the public and with no admission charge. It takes 30-40 minutes to view the collection. There is a docent who is willing to answer questions and provide background. Lots of fine items from the span of the Beatles’ career. Lots of fun!

    THE BEATLES
What the Beatles did in just 7 years is almost unbelievable in terms of the quantity and quality of their music and their influence and respect in the world still remains at the pinnacle. And to think John, Paul and George together had about 5 albums worth of material ready to release when the band dissolved. Dunedin has an outright gem of a museum that the curator told us was only about 25% of a private collector's collection and he was looking for a larger space for the Museum. There are so many items, I would be remiss to try to mention them all, but I did have to get my picture taken next to a signed Paul McCartney guitar. The memories were flooding out looking at items from as far back as the late 1950's to the post Beatle era and to think McCartney and Starr continue to release great new music today. With Beatle's music playing, a very friendly knowledgeable curator and the fact that I had just discovered the museum a week before made for a very memorable side trip from our vacation a few miles away in Clearwater Beach. It has an interesting location on the 2nd floor of the building right behind Rosie's Tavern and there is plenty of free parking. Currently it is only open Thurs-Sun 11-3. Enjoy the greatness, because we will never see the likes of this phenomenon again.
