Large rural area with great cycling and hiking
The National Park Drentsche Aa was created because it largely escaped from areal redistribution efforts and hence is still a very historical landscape. It has several small rivers, nature areas, small scale farming and even prehistorical funeral monuments built of large boulders. Great area for cycling or hiking!

Absolutely beautiful
The scenery is spectacular, beautiful countryside all along little paths and through gorgeous little villages and towns. My mother spent the war years here ( a stone's throw rom Vries) when she and her entire family were forced to leave their own home in South Holland which was commandeered by the Germans. Holland at its best!

Nice nature.
We made a the bike trip "Drentse Aa". The distance was approximately 32 KM. We can recommed this route because you bike through beautiful nature.
