One of the oldest City Parks / Forest

The Asserbos is one of the oldest and largests City Parks in the Netherlands, started in 1260 and landscaped in 1760. About 10 acres of the park are still original forest (oerbos). Still very popular for recreation with a big children’s farm with lots of animals. Several restaurants are located in the park such as the Ponderosa.

    Nice to visit
We visited Asserbos several times. You can walk, bike, sit and relax. There is an animal farm for chidren. Sometimes, there are yoga-courses.

    Forest near the city
Quite exceptional to have such a large old forest close to the city center. Deciduous forest, but also fir tree. Great for a walk or for running and cycling.
