Nice family swimming spot
My kids like it here. Plenty of shade around the water, nice bath house in the public area. Camping is ok. The spots are close together on some of the loops, multiple bathhouse but only 1 shower in each...play ground more like a climbing fort but older kids loved it.

Great campground
Stayed at site #17 on the lake with a great view. Remote which allowed us to see the milky way for the first time in a few years. Quiet, clean and well maintained. Beautiful site and great staff.

Bring Your Bug Zapper
Scenic drive into park more like driving through the woods. Helpful staff had all paperwork ready for us to check in after hours. Beautiful, private spot with our own little pathway down into the hiking trail. Great lake for boating (motorized or other) and swimming area as well. Very clean bath house, no laundry facilities, clean campsite, firepit and grill. TONS of cicadas make for loud noise and nuisance with outdoor activities... drove us indoors 2 nights in a row. Fabulous hiking trails, suspension bridge, pathways into caves. Hour drive into Birmingham/airport area for taste of Civil Rights history.
