The Wiregrass Museum of Art is an intimate venue with rotating exhibits by local and non-local artists. Everchanging, always fascinating, this museum also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including a blues shows and a garden party (not to be missed!),free children art workshops and guest lectures. No charge, but donations are accepted
My sweetie's an artist, and I sometimes acquiesce to her wishes to see an art museum. Sometimes I'm surprised how much I enjoyed going to them, as I was at Wiregrass Museum of Art. Some of the artwork done by amateurs was outstanding. We spent at least an hour and a half in here and enjoyed every minute. If you've never been to Wiregrass, do so, You many not know what you are missing. In the same area, you'll find the fine graphics of the history of Dothan. Don't miss it.

A Small Museum Downtown
When I visited this museum I was met by several very friendly, helpful young ladies and the security guard. The museum does not charge admission, but takes donations. I didn't stay long as the current special exhibit was not to my liking. The permanent collection is nice, but small, and there is also a room with blown glass shapes and vessels. The museum is downtown with plenty of free parking and is adjacent to the Civic Center
