    Must go tour inside
It’s life changing and will give you a good look of American history from educated white people who care about American regardless of race, color and religious orientation. Most historian would failed to mention that Washington DC was built by black slave, but also they will fail to mention that president Washington paid the black slave with immortal freedom to them and their family inherence of future born family member. President George Washington freed slave as payment for building Washington DC way before President Lincoln followed president George Washington direct many years later. Historian won’t remind you of this history, but also they wouldn’t deny this truth. It life changing tour that starts with a movie theatre presentation well worth your time. Ask the historian this truth called the black freed Mason who were paid with freedom when building Washington DC as bought slave by President Washington DC.

    Capitol Hill - iconic
It's a must do building to visit when in Washington. Be aware you can only see the House of representatives and the Senate when they are in session which I therefore missed as they weren't sitting. Otherwise you are restricted to a tour which is essentially just going in the area under the dome. You go past Nancy Pelosi's office en route. You'll be shown the statues, the paintings on the wall and of course can appreciate the architecture of the dome itself. The guides are helpful but you must stay with your group - it seems wandering off can get you in trouble. There is as you'd expect for such a building airport type security where there can be long queues. If you're also visiting the Library of Congress, there is a tunnel under the street there so you only go through security once - and vice versa. The building is iconic and I took plenty of pictures of the building from wherever I saw it as there are various viewpoints to do this from. Especially the Mall.
