One of Decatur's Gems

Rock Springs Center is not just a beautiful and peaceful place to be in nature. They offer a very nice visitors' center and frequent activities. It's one of Decatur's gems! I really enjoy walking my dog on the trails and also the folk music once a month on Sundays.

    Getting Back to Nature!
Beautiful and peaceful setting. Nice hiking and biking trails, paved and unpaved... Lots of wildlife. The nature center is well maintained and staffed. They have a really nice indoor bird watching window with speakers...You can hear the birds chirping! They have a small theater and an interactive area for children. They even have cross country skiing in the winter!

A spot of nature in the city
I bike, hike, or run to Rock Springs daily. Once there, there are nature and art exhibits to view, and trails to take. As a teacher, I took workshops there, and brought my students to hike and participate in programs. The center is accessible by car, or from the bike trail. In the winter there is cross country skiing. There are often programs for all ages.
