If you are in town visiting the Staley Museum or downtown Decatur, don't miss this added stop. The Mansion is located a pleasant brick paved walk from the Staley Mansion and offers guided tours. The tour wasn't overly long and the docents were both very excited to be there and telling us it's history. The mansion boasts several important artifacts as the Governor was a legitimate friend to Abraham Lincoln and was even supposed to attend the theater with him on the fateful night of his assassination.
