A hometown museum
For visitors to Darkhan, it's worth a stop to learn more about the history of the city and the region, but it definitely would benefit from more space to share more history and inclusion of more recent history.

Small Aimag Museum.
The museum of Darkhan Uul occupies the second floor of a marketplace in New Darkhan, Old District. The cost to get in was 1500 tugs each when we went, but that doesn’t include the privilege to take pictures. You can take one picture for 500 tugs or buy a photo pass for 5000-10000 tugs. There is a collection of taxidermy animals, a culture room, and a vast space dedicated to the city of Darkhan. All three areas are well put together and easy to navigate. The staff are understanding of your inability to speak Mongolian fluently, which was helpful for us. Some of the plaques had rough English translations.
