Permanent home of a Hilltop cow!
I’m not much of a shopper and have never reviewed a store before, but I visited Little Shop of Treasures for one reason and am reviewing it for the same reason: It houses one of the Hilltop cows! The Hilltop Restaurant, a well-known landmark on Route 1 in Saugus, closed last year, and the building was recently demolished. It was perhaps best known for its giant cactus sign (still standing) and the plastic cows grazing in front of the restaurant. The owners of the shop purchased one of the cows (pre-demolition) and display her towards the front of the store. The cow is not for sale, but every other type of collectable seems to be! The store was packed full of stuff at prices that seemed pretty reasonable to my untrained eye. During my brief visit, I noticed others who seemed to be stopping in just to see the famous Hilltop cow.
