These pools, which give the town of Aguas Calientes its name, were formed due to the volcanic activity of the region. Soak in the comfortable waters, with temperatures that range from 100°F to 114°F. But don't worry about the water's slight yellow tinge—it's caused by sulfur, iron and other minerals that are naturally present. This is not a spa but a place to relax.
A very nice hot spring that supports the locals more than tourists. Prices are lowest for Cusco residents and go up from there. I paid 20 Soles (USD$7) with no time limit. I followed suggestions to go early in the morning and shared the 4 open pools with about a dozen people. I hear it gets dirtier later in the day, as expected. Don't expect a spa experience and you will have a relaxing soak.

Relax in the Hot Solprings of Agua Calientes
The Hot springs are tucked into the hill above the city. There is quite a steep walk to reach the entrance. It took 15 minutes to walk there from the main part of town. There are 5 pools of various temperatures. There are hand sanitizers everywhere. It’s a great way to spend a few relaxing hours after visiting Machu Pichu. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They make great drinks.
