2 Day Tour of County Donegal

We recently used Chieftain Tours for a 2 day tour of Donegal County. It was a great experience! Joe was our tour guide and his knowledge and history of the area was exceptional. Joe was extremely helpful in planning our tour. I provided Joe with our wish list of things/places we wanted to see. Joe was able to maximize our time based upon our wish list and suggested places that we did not include. We trusted Joe's suggestions and we were not disappointed! Joe picked us up each morning on the scheduled time. The van that was used was so comfortable, roomy, chairs and tables and even USB charging ports. It was very easy to hear Joe as he drove us around and describe different points of interest to us. We highly recommend Chieftain Tours! They were the highlight of our 16 day tour of Ireland! A Fantastic Trip!
Chieftain Tours put together a customized tour of County Donegal that was fantastic! Our tour guide, Joe, had deep historical and geographical knowledge that was so helpful as we toured the area of our ancestors. Chieftain Tours arranged for a private tour of Fanad Head Lighthouse that was a real highlight and they made it so easy for us to get around from place to place so we were able to see quite a lot over a few days. Chieftain Tours really delivered a once in a lifetime experience and I would highly recommend them.

2019 northern adventure
I would highly recommend this tour company! We did the 3 day with Brian as our tour guide and it was honestly the best way to see the northern half of Ireland. Brian had a lot of information about everything and kept us all entertained with his bad jokes and the odd song. It is well worth the money because it's without doubt the best and most economical way to see Ireland as there is no time wasted navigating, vast local knowledge, no important sights missed and most importantly of all at the end of the day it was straight to the accommodation without getting lost! At night Brian always seemed to know where the best place would be locally to hear some Irish Music and boy did we hear some top class stuff. I would highly recommend this to couples or small groups looking for a fun, relaxed tour with the option of changing the itinerary at a moment’s notice, thanks to the “few to many in Leo’s Tavern where we met Moya Brennan lead singer of Clanad!!! We were planning a return visit in autumn 2020 but due to the current pandemic we now hope to go in spring 2021 as Brian has agreed to put together an alternative 7 day tour covering the same route but with different sights, we really can’t wait. Thank you Brian for such a wonderful trip and for the lifelong memories we have created.
