Beautiful Lake
Lago Ypacarai is really nice and has lovely walkways alongside it. It can get very hot during the day so they made sure they planted plenty of trees and quite a lot of benches too. Very well planned.

NOT MUCH ACTION IN WINTER
You could pretty much see the Cathedral, Theater, Government Palace, Legislative building ,and Avenida Costanera in one day. After that you would have to venture outside of Asuncion to see more sites. I would recommend taking the "Circuito de Oro" tour with Martin Travel which includes a visit to Luque(jewelry town), Aregua(pottery town), and Ypacarai (the beach town). Just keep in mind that during the winter monthS of Paraguay (June, July, and August) there isn't much action at the lake. Pleasant Lake
Here on the height of summer and temperature of C34 degrees. The lake has a cooling effect. It's got small beach and pleasant sorting on edge of lake. There on a weekday so not many folk there...but at weekends can take boats onto the lake. Nice couple of cafes.
