Before Moonrise - virtual game
Played "Before Moonrise" as a virtual game a couple of weeks ago with some friends. We had played in person together before but were somewhat uncertain about whether the experience would be the same remotely. The game surpassed any expectations we could have had, mainly due to our indefatigable host and avatar, Mike. I didn't just feel like I was playing a game in person in a New Haven basement with Mike. I felt like I was trapped in a mountainside cabin with him during a summer storm, transported with him to a world of quotidian magic, concentrated moonlight, and riddling fairies. He managed to achieve that additional suspension of disbelief, so that I felt that I was in a different reality. And to be honest, that's something you only experience in the best games, even when you're there. "Before Moonrise" deserves the hype. I strongly recommend it, whether or not you have played escape rooms before, and whether you are actually in the room in New Haven or somewhere else in the world.

Escape New Haven is a winner
We are a family of 6 which was perfect for The Game Show as they divided us into two groups of 3. The game had a twist where we thought we were done early but it turned out that was just one part of the mystery and really made us work to solve the final puzzle to get out of the room. The location was easy to get to (right off the exit) and staff were fun and friendly. We played on a weekend and got on-street parking but there looks to be plenty of parking in the area and it's in a nice part of New Haven. We had dinner afterwards downtown and had a lot of fun. We will be doing this again!
