Superb attraction
We were trying to find a nice attracion near Madrid. Someone in the group suggested El Palacio del Pardo and we decided to give it a try. This was an excellent choice. In modern history times this palace was home to General Francisco Franco from 1940 until his death in 1975. The tapestries, lamps, ceilings, clocks and furniture in this palace are unique pieces of art. The entrance fee includes a guided tour. Close to the Palace and for the same ticket price you can see the Casa del Principe, another arquitectural and art marvel. To get there use the metro to Moncloa station and then bus # 601, 1.50€ each way. Admission is 9€ they offer senior discounts. At the small shop in the entrance you can buy books depicting the history if this place and of the Spanish civil war. Reccomended.
