Quite charming

It's full with nature and the architecture of the palace is so beautiful!! It’s really a tall building. There were ducks and turtles in the lake next to the mirror's palace, and also what it seemed to be a beautiful black swan. I recommend going early in the morning around 8-9am since it's not crowded yet so that you can appreciate the sounds of nature around it!

A small but perfectly formed Victorian-style glass house in a shady spot.
When we were there, a temporary art installation had been set up in the Crystal Palace, which was enjoyable to look around. It isn’t as sweltering inside the glasshouse as you might imagine, but the real treat is walking around the outside. The glasshouse is lovely to look at, with perfect proportions, designed by Ricardo Velázquez Bosco, who also created the Velázquez Palace, a few minutes walk away. The pond in front is home to big, bold fish, who don’t mind swimming close to the surface so you can get a close look, and cute little terrapins. When we were there, two excellent buskers were brightening up the whole scene with their music. Amid the noise and bustle of Madrid, this is a quiet and pleasant place to spend some time.

    A little underwhelming
This striking cast iron and glass palace built in 1887 was modelled after London’s Crystal Palace at Hyde Park. Owned by the Reina Sofia Museum, it is used primarily for temporary exhibitions. It was free to enter but when we went a little underwhelming inside - empty, except for mirrors that let you see the ceiling and mist being sprayed throughout? I think it's best seen when there's exhibitions inside...
