Great little museum
A small but very interesting museum. A surprising place. From the outside, a classicist building from the end of the 19th century. Built and used as the home of the Marquis de Cerralbo. Currently an art museum. Perfectly preserved palace with beautiful interiors, kept in perfect condition. Furniture, paintings, lamps, at the same time retain its charm to make it seem like life goes on in the palace. It is worth getting lost in his rooms and transferring to another time. I recommend it especially to people who love art and do not like large crowds.

Ten Stars! Overlooked Treasure in Madrid
I have to completely agree with previous reviewers who suggested this museum over the Royal Palace. First of all, the entry fee is a paltry 3 or 5 euros rather than around 25 for the palace. But more than that, what impressed me about this place is that it is so accessible. Unlike the massive palace tours where visitors are roped back FAR away from the beautiful treasures, here you can get extremely close to so many priceless items and really feel like you are a part of the place rather than an unworthy observer kept far away from the items you've gone to see. Sure, there are loads of security guards as others have noted but that's what allows visitors such an immersive experience. And, I have to say that my picture of the ballroom got more attention on social media than any other picture from my Spain trip! This place is stunning and worth the visit. DO visit early as the museum controls the number of guests present at any given time. And, note that you cannot bring anything in the museum, not even purses, But there are free, locked boxes to store your items. This was a highlight of our visit and even held the attention of the people in my group who really, really aren't into museums!
