There are also many cafes and restaurants scattered throughout, making it easy to take a break and grab a bite to eat. However, we recommend avoiding weekends and peak times, as it can get incredibly busy, with people walking in all directions, making it difficult to navigate. Additionally, there are some old, magnificent architectural buildings interspersed between the shops, adding to the charm of the area.

    Beautiful city's most central street
    Beautiful city's most central street, unbelievable how many people are walking in the evenings of the weekend on the enlarged sidewalks, many open shops, endless opportunities for food and drinks, street artists and a general festive atmosphere. Most amazing : next morning the city is perfectly clean and quiet. There many public transportation means, a few free of charge .I highly recommend to spend a few days just feeling the city !

    What pandemic
    Our hotel was on the Gran Via so on our final day we just walked around most streets, along with thousands of others. I have never seen so many visitors on the city streets, absolutely mobbed. It was a real pleasure just to stroll around and enjoy the sunshine. We also had a 2 day ticket for the hop on hop off city tours, so with routes 1 and 2 passing through gran via, we were well acquainted. You have to just marvel at the beautiful architectural buildings.
