A multi-tiered complex

The revamped Atocha consists of the old and new stations. We used the very busy new station which is used for all rail routes including high-speed and long distance. Signage and directions could be better - it’s a maze for first timers. The Madrid Metro stops here. Besides trains, the old station has offices, shopping, a leisure complex that includes a tropical garden of 400 species and over 7,000 plants.

    Confusing for tourtists, buy tickets online its much easier.
    It was our first time in Madrid and decided to take a day trip from Madrid to Toledo. You'll need your passport. If you decide to buy tickets at the train station you can buy a ticket at a machine or you'll need to get a tickets at the office but you'll need to get a ticket for your turn first. Read the instructions carefully, as Toledo had its own button. Make sure you are going to the right office. There are two (that we know). You'll also have to go through luggage check. Arrive 1/2 -1 hour early as lines tend to get very long. The tracks are announced about 10 minutes before leaving and you are assigned a train car and seats. The trains are very clean and efficient and they leave and arrived on time.
