Way Overcrowded
This place would be absolutely amazing, but, unfortunately it’s a victim of its own success, hence, it’s way overcrowded! Over-tourism has spoiled the real beauty of this place. It should be a beautiful blue sea of tranquility. It’s also very dangerous walking around the dusty rugged cliff paths looking for somewhere to sit. The government should build safe pathways & new platforms for the thousands of people who can’t sit at the waters edge. Such a shame this magnificent lagoon of water is now a circus with 100’s of boats (music blaring), thousands of people scrambling for space, & food & drink vans perched up all over the cliffs. Definitely worth a visit, but, don’t expect to have a relaxing time.

Beware of the scammy deck chairs for hire men!
The blue lagoon is absolutely gorgeous but at some point it becomes a bit gimicky with all the concession stands and scammy beach deck chairs for hire. We spent 2 hours here and it was enough as more and more people were coming + at some point everyone is swimming on top of each other. I would not recommend to take a beach chair for hire as not only are the prices exorbitant (40€ for the day, 25€ for 2 hours) but the men who run them will try to scam you if you take the latter option. We were there for 1hour and the guy tried to tell us that we were there for more than 3 hours. We had to show him a picture we took at 10.30 (he claimed we arrived before 10) to prove that we did not even leave the main island at that point. It’s such a shame because it really puts a damper on what would have been a really great experience.

Beautiful sea but a bit like benidorm!
Went on a trip bu speedboat which was excellent. got to blue lagoon so many people trying to get onto a small bit of sand and rocks behind it. Illegal salesmen renting out deckchairs for 15 euros an hour! You dont need a deckchair you do need to find a space to go into the water but once in it is fantastic. The touts are ruining the look of the area. we still loved the sea though.
