A very good stop if you travel with kids but needs some help in terms of upgrades
The location is very nice but the zoo itself a bit suffering and in need of some update. There are so many colorful birds kids will definitely enjoy as well as the playful monkeys. A bit difficult to navigate as if you don`t pay attention you can easily skip some of the animals enclosures. We also got inside an area in reconstruction where they had some rescued animals that required more attention like a baby slot. They also sell plants and have an orchid designated area that was closed when we were there. I think people should support them in rescue effort and don`t just go for the golden frogs ... btw the frogs would be also in a kind of "cage" if there would still be there no?...

A Small Zoo in a picturesque valley.
Went as part of a tour from the resort. Located in picturesque Anton Valley, surrounded by an ancient volcanic rim. Reported to be 94 different species of animals on site. A good number of animals have been rescued, including the Jaguars. I can agree with another reviewer that the monkeys craved touching and didn't want food. Are some of the cages on the small side? Yes, but many aren't bad or much different thin in larger North American zoos. And overall the zoo was clean and seemed pretty well kept. But if you don;t like seeing animals in cages, and I'm not a big fan of that, it might be best to skip. But younger kids will most likely enjoy it.,

Ok for a short visit
It’s a small zoo and the kids liked it but I think that the cages are two small and often overcrowded. You cannot see the golden frog there anymore. We were told at the entrance that the frogs were moved to Panama City.
