Museum still under reconstruction
In October 2022 the museum is still under the ongoing reconstruction with no planned date for reopening yet. The exhibition was moved to the fort, which was really nice, you learn a bit about the history of Lamu, the different sites on the other islands, which are ruins now, about the habits, trade and the architectonic door styles of different periods. Worth a visit. The ticket 500 Ksh is also valid for the German post office museum (if visited in 1 day).

a Short history book
Lamu is mostly good for culture and history Lovers, how ever for beach lovers also has amazing things to offer. but i traveled there in order to see a historical place, not as a beach destination. Museum are what we need o visit as a history lovers, so , no visit is completed without a visit to this museum.he museum offers different types of musical instruments, traditions, customs and even home stuff.
