A COFFEE REAL TREAT!

In the heart of this central town named CIALES in Puerto Rico, you will find this small and quaint museum, where they actually roast the famed DON PELLO gourmet high grade coffee. There are many variations that you can actually purchase at the place. Since I am indeed a coffee connoisseur (but not an expert), I highly recommend that you take the pleasant 45 minute highway drive up and road #149 to the town of Ciales, to get a taste of one of the best coffees in the island.

Small yet precious spot.
Beautiful little spot with delicious coffee and pastries. We went on a weekday and even though there weren’t any guided tours available we were still able to walk around ourselves, take photos and enjoy the small yet cute scene. It’s not very big but it is precious. The smell of coffee is amazing. We bought bags of coffee to take home too!

Museo del Cafe en Ciales
A good time for the whole family. The museum it self is small and cozy (not very pretentious), but its full of interesting artifacts and documents from the time when coffee was an important export for the island. You must try the coffee, each visitor may have a free cup, compliments of the house. I recommend taking some home with you, the prices are good for the quality of the product. If you are lucky and the owner, Pichi, is there when you visit ask him anything and everything you ever wanted to know about coffee. The guy is a walking encyclopedia in all things coffee related.
