Tiny museum on six floors; nice view

This is a nice, small museum with five floors of documents, clothing, and other items representing the history of Chișinău. Each floor has one small room with artifacts. The best part is the 360 degree view of Chișinău from the outdoor observation deck on the 6th floor. At 10 Moldova Lei (50 US cents) it is worth a visit.

    View of the city
Actually the museum was rather weak, lack of explanation and very old style so that the exhbition did not captivate my attention. However I visited mostly for the view of the city from above. It is not the best view I have had in a city but still it is recommended if you have time and need an activity to do in Chisinau.

The best thing about it is the view
The museum is small and set over a number of floors and documents social history of Chisinau from its founding to the present day. There are one or two interesting old photographs and artefacts but its generally rather confusing. The first floor starts promisingly enough with a couple of labels in English, Moldovan and Russian. These are quite basic such as "women's clothes 19th Century" but on the upper floor they become non-existent and you have to work things out for yourself. Its definitely easier to do this if you can read Russian! The view is quite nice from the top too and probably one of the only rooftop vantage points in the city. Its so cheap you might as well pay a visit - you have nothing really to lose!
