Tornik Ski Resort, Central Serbia, Serbia

3.5 (3 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Cajetina Ski & Snowboard Areas

Best value for money in Europe

Just returned from a week's holiday at Zlatibor mountain. Tornik is it's highest peak with a ski resort of the same name.It is 9km away from the centre of Zlatibor town. Lovely ski resort for families.Ski slopes for skiers of all levels, ski school, tubing, bob track ,etc...You can get there by car, taxi(only short 15 min ride for a reasonable fee) or by newly built "Gold Gondola" cable car,the longest in Europe(I highly recommend using Gondola, the views are breathtaking) Big choice of ski rental shops, few coffee shops/restaurants(two even on the very top of the mountain) and kids's play areas. The prices for day ski pass are a bargain in comparison to other European ski resorts. Local people are very helpful and friendly. My kids (8&5 y) refreshed their skiing skills and thoroughly enjoyed skiing down the easy slope(blue, number 3).We'll definitely return next year.

Excellent ski centre with fantastic food!
A really good ski centre for all levels (except maybe pro/olympic level). The newly built Gondola (9km - longest in the world) will take you to the top of the mountain where you can ski down to the ski centre, or if you don’t have your own equipment then take the chair-lift down to the centre where you can hire it. The centre is new, upgraded with modern equipment about a year ago. It has several good slopes such as easy, medium and hard as well as several learning slopes with ski schools and ski kindergartens attached. Several restaurants serving fantastic food (typical for Serbia). The hot chocolate is a special treat… melted down from proper chocolate and mixed in with only very little milk! Yes, the crowds are a bit different than what you would expect in the west. Not great at queuing but otherwise very helpful and kind. Considering that a ski pass here is a fraction of the price compared to other western ski centres - it is extremely good value for money. Also, yes, Tornik as a mountain can’t compare to the Swiss Alps but if you want a low cost, fun and easy ski holiday with some of the best food available in the world - this ski centre will not disappoint you.

    Disgrace
Avoid at all cost. Not worth the money. Icy (and rocky) slopes, crowded, people never heard about queuing, workers do not care about all the people walking on the slopes nor about parents that put their kids through gates to skip the line, no receipt in restaurants. Ski schools just want to take your money, not to really learn you how to ski (few ski teachers were good though). Ski pass cards are such a low quality that you have to buy new after three days of skiing. Overall bad experience.
