4.5 (32 reviews) Sunday: Spent Ranking #3 in Pirot Speciality Museums

Nice museum and local history

I was surprised by the quality of the museum, beautiful collection of artifacts and several pieces that shows how it was in the time of the Ottomans. The lady spoke a good English and the explanations were really interesting for those interested in history.

    Amazing local history on display
This museum is showing unique crafts of the city of Pirot while telling an amazing story of "Mali Rista" who built his house during Turkish empire. You will see beautiful killims, that became a world known trademark of Pirot. There are samples more than 100 years old. Listen to the story of the guide while looking around the rooms and you will be able to feel the atmosphere of the time of Mali Rista

    nice and pretty
It is located near the city center and is very nice. There is a traditional folklore collection and a pretty garden outside. It is a typical house of the region. Near the museum there is a good small restaurant with tasty local dishes.
