A half-frozen pond inside, with a sord of mallards...
I was there in January. Just for fun. Dmitrov is an old lovely Russian town well worth visiting. Not that posh and harum-scarum as Moscow, not sort of artificially polished for tourist consumption as Suzdal', not European glamorous St. Pete. Its Kremlin is both authentic and kinda toyish, both ancient and lively, both tranquil and agile. Tidy, solemn. Cathedrals, statues and the whole of "intramuros" ambience enchant. A pleasant hideaway from the annoying buzz of the megapolis seventy kilometers down south. Recommended!

Moscow Brother or....?
The history of city goes back to more than 850 years ago... some assumes it was founded even before Moscow or right after it. Though it's a morden city you can see and feel pure Russian type of living diferrent by the way from touristic hits like Suzdal or Yaroslavl. To know more about city history please visit the local City Museum with its interesting exposition which depicts 'ups and downs' of its life. There are several hotels to choose from, the most recommended is 'Four Crowns'. Better visit it in summer but other season are good also,

Historical place!
The earthen wall that goes round is impressive, but it's small. We do not know, it was so small, it was not so good. Inside there's not much to see. Yes it's interesting to visit and to walk, but it will take you may be several hours. We've spent an hour (most of the time we took photoes). Do not spend the whole day to visit Dmitrov, make the tourist rout with several places + Dmitrov! We've seen only 3 outside souvenir tents ... Here's not much tourist places, that's strange because the town is ancient, and the scientists at excavations have discovered a lot of interesting things. But where is this all?
