Breathtaking
The imposing architectural ensemble of the Monastery of the Saviour and St Euthymius “stands out vividly like a city” on a high steep bank of the Kamenka river. Prince Boris – of Suzdal and Nizhni Novgorod – founded it in 1352. St Euthymius, an associate of St Sergius of Radonezh, became the monastery's first hegumen. In 1642, Prince Dmitri Pozharsky, a Russian national hero, was buried here. The object is under the operational management of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve.

Nice place for visiting once...would be worth more during summers
We visited this place during end of winters. Entire place was covered with snow and that was a charm in itself. But like it happens in Russia, there were quite less visitors during winters making it little more convenient in pile of snow. Yes, there is fee for the attraction....but there is different prices for visiting various places and there is obviously a discounted but all-in cost ticket including all attractions. One can choose depending upon the time available and buy tickets accordingly. We preferred only tickets for church as we have seen other museums in detail before this. Nice church and with choirs going on inside, it presented a very holy atmosphere. We enjoyed taking pics inside. I am sure this place would be worth lot more during summers as winter harshness takes out all motivation out of visitors.

Interesting Monastery
This place is definitely worth visiting when in Suzdal, it is a nice reminder that monasteries were so much more than just religious centers in the middle ages; hospitals, libraries, jails etc as well as a place for people to seek shelter when the Tartars/Mongols raided the place. There are some very interesting exhibits in the complex, even if very little of the information is in English - the highlight of my visit was accidentally walking into the church/cathedral just as the choir was about to perform. It gave new meaning to the phrase "to sing like an angel" - absolutely beautiful and moving, a reminder of how powerful song is and the wonders of church accustics.
