Magical gardens full of surprises
I had found this Castle online as a must visit in Sintra and I will tell you, it did not disappoint. You could easily wander the gardens for hours but we stayed for about one: wandering through grottos, wells, and hidden staircases. I recommend getting here early in the day as it does get more crowded in the afternoon. Also this is very accessible from town and easily walkable though note that the gardens do contain many hills. We did not go inside the palace as we ran out of time, but I highly recommend this for couples and families with children as it is a real life magic garden.

Beautiful palace and grounds
We visited this first thing on a weekday morning, we had pre-booked our tickets and there was a small queue to get inside. We bee lined to the famous well within the park grounds and were one of the first to arrive, but within minutes there were tour groups descending upon. The park has many beautiful monuments, but parts were closed due to covid. You could easily spend hours walking around the grounds, but it is very hilly and on a hot day not so enjoyable. The palace is pretty from the outside, but the inside is quite small and not what you’d expect it to look like. I'd recommend getting there early as by the time we left at lunchtime the park was quite busy
