A must-visit In Belmonte
The museum was worth every bit the €4/person entry fee! Well-kept and well-organised, it showcased the rich heritage of the Jewish community in Belmonte and the surroundings. We went in without a clue and came out much enlightened! The fact that the Jewish community still exists in Belmonte and can practise their faith openly is testimony to the harmonious co-existence between the different faiths here. An hour here is easily spent. Very interesting and enlightening. Highly recommended.

A must. The reason to come to Belmonte
We planned a trip in Portugal around coming to Belmonte, the Museum, the synagogue. The most powerful part of the museum was the video stories for generations. Talking about the family history. The history of secrecy. The history of values passed from generation to generation over 500 years.
