Family relax and education
The Living Museum of Gingerbreads in Torun is the first so interactive museum in Europe. It has existed since 2006 and it is located at 9 Rabianska street, in the middle of the city center. It all takes place in the Medieval Bakery under the watchful eyes of Gingerbread Master. Visitors prepare dough by themselves and bake their own gingerbreads. Another floor is a manufacturing room from the early 20th century where we teach how to decorate gingerbreads with an icing. We welcome all those who want to learn about the tradition of baking gingerbreads in Torun and its medieval culture. All of this happens in a fantastic atmosphere with a great deal of humor. The visit in our Museum is fun and joy for everyone, no matter what age you are. We welcome visitors daily 10am – 6pm. The last show starts at 5 pm. The show translated in English starts at 2 pm.

Gingerbread in Torun
A great family stop. Skit/opening explanation was a lot of fun for all and the kids got special attention. In the skit the "makings" of gingerbread are covered. Then, with a ball of premade gingerbread you get to roll out the gingerbread, choose a mold, create a bakable gingerbread piece, which are collected and baked, Not recommended for eating but many batches of perfectly created gingerbread are available for purchase. We bought a Spiderman gingerbread man! Allow about 75 min or so.

More ginger than Ronald Weasley
If you enjoy gingerbread and interactive workshops, this is the workshop for you. We attended the one bilingual workshop of the day - please note that it is a fully bilingual presentation so all instructions and information are given in Polish and English. We booked in advance and would recommend doing so during weekends and holiday periods. The workshop hosts were very enthusiastic and interacted well with participants. The children in the crowd seemed to really enjoy the presentation and activities. During the course of the workshop, you learn about the history of gingerbread and get a chance to make your own gingerbread souvenir. You have a chance to browse the store and clean your flour-y hands while the gingerbread is baked.
