Old Town, Central Poland, Poland

4.5 (13.9k reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Central Poland Historic Walking Areas

Rebuilt but still great to see

After being leveled when the Nazis left, this whole neighborhood of cobblestone Gothic streets and alleyways, baroque palaces, numerous churches and tiered burghers' houses were masterfully reconstructed to reflect the atmosphere of bygone days.

    Touristy but Fun
The old town is a great place to spend an afternoon. Everything here was flattened in WWII so most of the buildings were rebuilt after the war. Even though it is touristy there are a lot of good restaurants although they are more expensive than the rest of town. There are also plenty of souvenir shops and people on the street selling paintings or playing music. It is touristy but fun. There are multiple museums, churches, and other places to visit in the area as well.

    Worth to see
I had a chance to visit the Old Town for a short time. One can experience beatiful historic buildings, souvenir shops and nice cafes&restaurants like the old towns in many other European capitals. You can also can find charming amber jewellery in many shops.
