Very unique museum!
This museum is very exceptional and unparalleled. So many artifacts in small rooms of tenement house basement. You can literally feel history of city (and surrounding countryside!) by every sense of your body! You will see many colours and shapes, inhale the scent of incense and hear music straight from World War II times. It's unusual and astonishing controlled chaos in 11 rooms! Owner is very kind and helpful man, ready to explain and tell the story of each object. I'm so pleased that I find this place and recommend everybody visiting this place!

You will love this place
Very possibly one of the top ten museums I have ever visited. I am walking from Gdansk to Krakow on foot. I have seen many museums so far. none were this good. it has many rooms, each packed with mementoes of everyday life in Kalisz over the centuries. This includes the now disappeared Jewish population and the several foreign occupations. What makes this museum different is how ordinary people; their pictures; their toys; their ambitions; their tools are the focus. every room is stuffed with fascinating pieces. Lovely welcome from the owner. Highlight fir me was seeing signs and documents in ordinary gandwriting, with dates, by people whose lives and loves have come and now gone. if you do only one museum in town, make it this one.

Highly recommend
The visit in the museum was astonishingly interesting. If you want to discover some history of the beautiful city of Kalisz, don't miss the place. The items presented in the museum will remind childhood to adults and provide priceless knowledge to the youngest. The friendly attitude of the owner was much appreciated. Highly recommend the place :)
