Copernicus a bit, Toruń a lot

The Division of the Museum is located in two Gothic tenement houses, one of which is supposedly the birthplace of the great astronomer, Nicholas Copernicus. One can visit there burgher`s interiors (the 16th-19th cent.) and get acquainted with their mediaeval design. Visitors can find there documents and mementos connected with the life and work of the great discoverer. In the basement of the House there is an interactive exhibition "The world of Toruń gingerbread". While visiting it guided by a townswoman tourists have opportunity to both taste and bake gingerbread, find out the details of gingerbread making history, as well as get acquainted with spices used to make this speciality of Toruń.

    Worthwhile visit
The museum contained lots of information of the livelihood of the people who lived in typical tenement in Torun. Further through the museum there is more information and artefacts about Copernicus. The information boards are all in Polish, English and German. The 4D film was only in Polish - I don’t know if there are other language options during the summer months.

Diverse information but not all attractions on
A lot of diverse information however due to covid not all attractions available as many were interactive. We were not informed about that or about the app when buying tickets. This way we did not experience everything fully. Also there was a possibility to buy a ticket for all Torun museums in one in a discoumted price abour which we were not informed as well.
