Museo Nacional de los Ferrocarriles Mexicanos, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico

Lots of potential with a lack of funding

This is a great display with some true gems of the railroad. This museum is never going to get to the next level charging visitors the equivalent of 80 cents to get in. Clean, spacious grounds but lacks the value added amenities of a gift shop or food concession to bring in extra revenue for improvements.

    Great Selection of Trains!
We went to the museum with our 3 year old daughter. When we entered, there was an exhibition of bicycles which, was amazing in itself. We then moved over to look at the trains. There are a great selection of trains freight to passenger, steam, wooden... you name it. However, I think that the museum could be more interactive for Children. We couldn't access a lot of the trains but, we were informed that on the 'noche de museos' where museums are open for free that they would be accessible. Still, it was nice to go and have a look.

    Awesome hands-on look at trains
This outdoor museum is a nice break from typical sightseeing. They have a ton of train cars you can climb in, and signs explaining the history of the Mexican rails and tying it into the larger narrative of Mexican history. It's a very neat place, visually, though I could see some people wanting more narration (especially in English). But if you like trains or are sick of typical museums and want to do something a bit different, I'd highly recommend it.
