4.5 (28 reviews) Spent Ranking #40 in San Luis Potosi Bodies of Water

Clear, warm water!

What a great place to go swimming and rafting! Loads of fun, but be sure to get a life jacket because the water is deep!

Great Place to Learn to Scuba Dive
Media Luna, near Rio Verde, SLP, Mexico, is a wonderful place to learn to scuba dive. The water is clear and always warm, around 82 degrees F year round. There is a great dive shop at the corner of hwy 72 and the road to the lake; across from the fountain, Escuela de Buceo Media Luna. Ask for Ossiel, he is the owner and instructor. The lake is about six miles from the main road. There are 11 species of fish in the lake along with two turtle species. If you go, try to avoid the weekends because they are usually busy and that will effect the normal 60 foot visibility, reducing it to around 30 feet. You can camp at the lake for less than $10 USD a day. If you are going to scuba dive, that will run around $7 per day for all the diving you want to do. Clean air is available at the shop I previously mentioned. There are plenty of stands selling food at the lake as well as other items. All the dive equipment you will need can be rented at the dive shop.
