Amazingly beautiful

What a beautiful place. We did the Koskikara trip, which took us about an hour in a stunning landscape. Parking was available in a school yard right next to the start. Highly recommended

Beautiful Finnish nature for short and longer walks
I visited Leivonmäki National Park in June, and I really liked this place. It was beautiful with its very Finnish lake and forest views. It's easy to find, there are several parking lots and hiking trails. We only had time for a short hike this time, and we chose to park by a small beach in Hiekkaniemi. There was a hilly trail, which was easy to walk but good for training as well. I loved walking in the middle of the forest and seeing lake water both left and right and I am looking forward to getting back here and enjoying other longer trails next year, when visiting Joutsa again (fingers crossed).

    Good Family walk
The park is pretty big with many routes you can take, all of them are in a very beautiful, but typical local forest, by Rutajarvi lake. We have collected plenty berries during our walks. You are allowed to fish in the park, there are nice pike in the lake, but you will need a small boat to move around. There are fire places with wood and grill facilities. Joutsniemi was our favorite route, walking on a hill with a lake on both sides of you. The routes are not difficult and suit family walk with children.
