The city of Karlovac and its defenders endured fierce attacks in the Homeland War and played a key role in the defence of the Croatian territory, as well as in the creation of the independent Republic of Croatia. Worth a visit
We visited it on our first day of vacation, on our way to the coast. Very instructive and I definitely recommend younger generations to go visit it. The permanent exhibition is located on several floors, as well as outside of the museum. Weapons, tanks, various recordings, newspaper clippings and more ... Although sad, it is worth seeing and finding out some new details about the Homeland War that you may not have known.

Connection to history in my lifetime
What a moving experience! This museum strikes a perfect balance between information and emotional connection. As Americans trying to understand the Homeland War, we came away with a deeper understanding of history that was made in our lifetime and with deeper empathy for the people who lived through the horrors of war. Great museum.
