Interesting museum - but cold
The castle was built around 1500 above the gorge of the River Dobra – Đula’s Abyss. The founder of the town was Bernardin Frankopan, one of the most powerful noblemen of his time. Today, the castle houses The County Museum. It owns several collections showing exhibits of various kinds: archaeology, ethnology, old armaments, a memorial room for Ivana Brlic-Mazuranic, mountaineering, etc.

Friendly host but inside not spectacular
When seeing a castle we also want to view the inside. It was very quiet, but due to this, the host also had time to provide us with some explanations, which was really nice. The exhibitions are not very special, but still worth to have a quick look. Personally I liked the outside of the castle more, and as tip for the owners: maybe you can open the tower for visitors?

Nice castle
Due to the limited time we only visited the castle from outside. It is very well preserved and has a nice courtyard in the middle. Maybe next time we'll take some more time to visit also the museum inside the castle.
