Sisak, Central Croatia, Croatia

4.5 (2 reviews) Spent 2-3 hours Ranking #7 in Sisak-Moslavina County Points of Interest & Landmarks • Castles

Lots to see here for a few hour visit.

We began our visit to this nice town at the City Museum. The director opened the featured exhibit on the history of brick making saying the permanent rooms were damaged by the earthquake. 2 km southeast at the junction of the Sava and Kupa Rivers was the prominent 1550 Sisak Fortress. Although closed, we could walk around the 3 tower triangulation to appreciate its size and position along the Kupa. 7 km northeast was the 1981 46’ Sisak People's Liberation Monument sitting tall and alone among the trees far back in the lonely Park Brezovica. Lots to see here for a few hour visit.

A walk through history, Sisak Fortress.
Cruscial events took place in the 16th century in Croatia. Walking around through the fortress you will find a very interesting exibition which takes you back in history. Even weddings are performed in the Sisak fortress. Next to the fortress is a restaurant where you can have a lovely party. Sisak is located 60 km from Zagreb. A lovely train ride from Zagreb of 1 hour.
