It's a regional museum who has permanent and seasonal exhibitions. It's possible to learn a lot about history of Bjelovar-Bilogora County. The staff is friendly and professional. It's free to enter, no need to pay anything. It has great location in the centre of the city. It's quiet and lovely place to learn something new of history and art.

Feelings of admiration and frustration
The city Museum in Bjelovar is housed in a nice and simple baroque building which was built in the thirties of the nineteenth century, located in the town center, at Trg Eugena Kvaternika. The stated building used to be the seat of the local government. The Museum was inaugurated in 1949. The entrance is free for everyone. The Museum has both permanent and temporary exhibitions. Unfortunately, on the day I visited it, August 7th, 2021, only a temporary exhibition dedicated to the Croatian lady writer, Vesna Parun, was open to the public. It was a pity actually since, as far as I know, the permanent exhibition is very interesting, and I betook myself to Bjelovar from Daruvar, where I stayed, especially to visit the Museum. In principle, that permanent exhibition comprises several sections on different subjects, ranging from archaeology, ethnology, history and an art gallery. Apart from poetry, Vesna Parun also wrote some essays, critics and tales for children, of which she wrote more then twenty. Likewise she wrote some theatre drama works, such as Marija i mornar. She published, printed and illustrated some of her books. The items exhibited in the mentioned temporary exhibition can have some interest, especially for lovers of literature. The said items are rather varied. Among them one could watch Parun's purse, copies of old editions of some of her works, paintings, photos and other type of objects. In the inner yard of the Museum there is a stage which is used for concerts of different kinds of music, theatre performances, presentations and other artistic and cultural events in the open air. I intend to visit that Museum again whenever I'll be again in Bjelovar hoping that I'll be then luckier and thus have the possibility to contemplate the apparently fantastic permanent exhibition.
