Elijio Panti National Park, Cayo, Belize

5.0 (2 reviews) Spent More than 3 hours Ranking #3 in San Antonio Bodies of Water • National Parks • Nature & Wildlife Areas • Forests • Waterfalls

Beautiful and unspoiled nature

This remote park is unspoiled by overuse. Probably due to limited access. The best way to see it is from horseback or an extended hike. The forest is quiet and serene uninterrupted by dusty roads. We came across a foresters camp right in the middle of the bush. A healthy hike down a winding path brought us down to the river and a gem of a waterfall.

    Beautiful Offering Cave
We have visited the Eljio Panti national park as a day trip with a very knowledgeable guide Don Antonio, from the village of San Antonio. We hiked for 3,5 hours to get to the cave, the trail was overgrown at places and Don Antonio had to clear it up. The Offering Cave, formerly known as Secret cave is a wonderful cave. It took us 3 hours to explore its chambers full of huge Maya pottery, rappelled couple places to the lower parts of the cave. It was a wonderful adventure, and Don Antonio is the only guide trained and allowed to bring tourists in the cave.
