Dazzling!

There are two romanesque chuches in Taull dating from from the 11/12th ceturies. Santa Maria is located in the town square and is maybe more atmospheric, either unlit as it would have been , or illuminated. St Climent has achieved fame because of the wall paintings which were hidden for many years. Much has been relocated to the MNAC in Barcelona but the restorations are in place. What is spectacular is the digital projection into the apse where the paintings are, which recreates them in extraordinary vibrancy, and shows them as they might have been experienced when first painted. It is a short presentation, all the more striking because it is silent. Dazzling!

    Masterpiece of romanesque art
Built in XII century, it is the best example o romanesque architecture and wall paintings. Currently, by “mapping” projections, you can see original wall paintings (inside), as they were. Outside, the bell tower is simply delicious.

Ancient church. Be sure to go when the film show will be on
This church was built in 1123. There is some art remaining but, like other churches in Spain, the Church needed funds and so sold the frescoes to museums. Unlike other churches, this one has a fantastic light show that demonstrates the original decorations. It really is wonderful to see, even if you're not religious (I'm not). Just demonstrates the incredible devotion of these ancient people
